The Sports Journalism Institute is now accepting applications for its 31st class.
SJI’s first class convened in 1992, featuring its trademark boot camp, a deadline-intensive week covering sports events, interviewing athletes, coaches, and prominent sports media figures. The boot camp has been held at several locations, including the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism and, for the past four years and again in 2023, Arizona State’s Cronkite School.
The boot camp is aimed at helping students prepare for internships, which SJI helps set up through our partners in sports media, including ESPN, USA Today and the Gannett family of newspapers and websites, Yahoo! Sports, Sports Illustrated, the Denver Post and the Houston Chronicle, to name a few.
You can apply online and upload the necessary documents by clicking on the link at the end of this article. The deadline for applications is Nov. 4.
