The Sports Journalism Institute welcomed its 33rd class on June 2 with the start of a three-day virtual session. The 15 students and their instructors will prepare to assemble in Phoenix on June 7 for a deadline-filled boot camp at the Cronkite School at Arizona State University.
The students are hearing from SJI alums such as James Wagner of the New York Times, Baxter Holmes of ESPN, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post and Logan Murdock of The Ringer over the course of the next three days.
The class will assemble on June 7 for four training days, during which it will cover live events and hear from prominent sports journalists.
The first live deadline assignment for the Class of 2025 will be to cover the WNBA matchup between the Phoenix Mercury and the Seattle Storm on June 7.
